The rules for this website and its waiting list, in plain words. When the app ships, terms for buying and using it will be added here, and the date under the title will move.

What these terms cover

This website and the waiting list, nothing more yet. They are an agreement between you and the maker of Life Pattern Journal. Using the site or joining the list means you accept them.

The app is not out yet

Life Pattern Journal, the app, is built and not yet released. This site describes it as it stands during the build, and details can change before release: features and timing.

A place on the waiting list is not a contract. Joining costs nothing and obliges you to nothing. In return it promises nothing beyond the emails described below.

The waiting list

The list takes one email address. One email goes out now, asking you to confirm the address, and nothing else is sent until you do. Then two more, ever: one when the beta opens, one when the app launches. Leave whenever you like; leaving deletes the address. The privacy page covers how to do it and how the address is kept.

Paying for the app

The app will be a one-time purchase, and journaling in it stays free. No price is set, and nothing on this site quotes one. A price will be visible in the app stores before any money changes hands, and purchases will run through Apple and Google under their own terms.

What the app is

A journaling and reflection tool. It runs ordinary statistics over your own log and reports associations in plain sentences. Associations are not explanations. The app does not diagnose anything and it does not tell you what to do. It is for adults, 18 and over.

Using this site

Linking and quoting are welcome. Scraping the site for addresses and pointing scripted traffic at the form are not.

What we promise about the site

The site is offered as it stands. We keep it accurate as best we can, and we do not promise it will never be wrong, stale, or down. Descriptions of the unreleased app are work in progress, not a specification we are bound to ship.

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for losses that follow from relying on a free informational site.

Changes to these terms

These terms can change. The date under the title moves when they do. The two-email arrangement for the waiting list stands regardless.
